- One (1) Pair of ActiVHeat Cordless Glove Liners
- At least one PAIR (2) of red rechargeable compact Lithium polymer battery packs
- One (1) Wall-outlet AC Adaptor Power Supply
- One (1) Y-cable charging module with two small plugs and a socket
The battery packs are not charged when you receive them and must be fully charged. This may take up to 6 hours the first time charging.
Maintenance Tip: To prolong the life of the battery packs, charge fully as soon as you receive them.
Charging: Connect the socket on the Y-cable charging module to the plug on end of the cable of the AC Adaptor Power Supply cable and then firmly connect the two Y-cable module plugs into each of the sockets of the battery packs. Then insert the AC Adaptor Power Supply into an active electrical wall-outlet to charge the battery packs. Both battery packs must always be charged at the same time! After the initial charge, the regular charging time is approximately 3 hours.
The two (2) lights on the Y-cable module both light up RED color when charging and then each changes to GREEN color or OFF when fully charged. After the battery packs are fully charged (GREEN or OFF), unplug the AC Power Supply from the electrical wall outlet and disconnect the cables from the battery packs. Store the battery packs in the pocket inside the cuff of the gloves and close the zipper.
When to Recharge the Battery Packs: For best performance, charge the Battery Pack every time right BEFORE using your ActiVHeat cordless gloves. However, you can recharge the Battery Pack whenever it is convenient. The Battery Pack will naturally discharge itself over time, it is best to charge it the same day you plan to use it, or the day before.
To use the ActiVHeat Cordless Glove Liners, open the zipper of the inner in the glove and firmly connect the plug found inside to the socket of the battery. Store the connected battery inside the pouch and close the zipper. Open the tightening strap, pull on the gloves and tighten snugly. Heating is activated by depressing the heat control soft switch located on the top of the gloves for about 3 seconds continuously. The light on the switch will then light up, indicating that the gloves are heating. The temperature can be adjusted by pressing and releasing the heat controller button.
PREHEAT – Fading RED light – maximum heat for 5 minutes then drops to HIGH HEAT level
HIGH HEAT LEVEL - Red Light 111 °F with approximate heating time of up to 2 hours
MEDIUM HEAT LEVEL- Yellow Light 102 °F with approximate heating time of 3 – 4 hours
LOW HEAT LEVEL - 93 °F with approximate heating time of 4 – 5 hours
Please note that the actual heating time always depends upon the outside/ambient temperature and if the gloves are worn under different thicknesses of gloves or mittens.
Turning OFF
Turn OFF the gloves by depressing the ON/OFF soft control button for about 3 seconds until the backlit button light turns off. Always unplug the battery packs when the gloves are not in use and store them inside the pouch of the glove. The high-quality Rechargeable Lithium Polymer Battery packs cannot be damaged by frequent charging and can be re-charged up to about 500 times!
Additional rechargeable battery- packs can be purchased separately from the website: www.activheat.com if extended heating time is needed!
Preparing your Battery packs for Long Term Storage
For best performance it is recommended not leave the battery packs fully charged (full) or fully discharged (empty) if not being used for a long period of time i.e. over the summer (more than a month)! To recharge for storage, charge up for 45 minutes only and unplug the battery packs. After 3 months recharge the battery packs again for about 45 minutes and unplug from the charger. Repeat ever 3 months.
Warning:
Leaving the battery packs over several months without storage recharging may permanently reduce the charge capability of the battery packs and result in only a few minutes of heating time. Recharge the battery packs completely before using again. Only use supplied AC wall charger or other ActiVHeat auto adapter to charge the Battery Packs. Charging the Battery packs with a substitute AC charger may damage the Battery Packs, cause an unsafe condition and will void your warranty.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Always unplug the battery packs when the gloves are not in use. Store the gloves, charger and power supply in a cool, clean and dry place. Only use the supplied power adapter to recharge the gloves. Do not damage the heating elements by excessively stretching the gloves. Do not cut or puncture the gloves. Remove battery packs before washing – battery packs should not be submerged in water. Hand wash, hang dry. Do not place gloves on radiators or any other hot surface! Let the gloves dry completely before use reuse.
HELPFUL INFORMATION:
Please perform the following test should you feel the gloves are not heating correctly:
- Charge the battery packs completely and connect to the gloves.
- Now turn ON the gloves by depressing the ON/OFF heat control button continuously for about 3 seconds until the LED light turns on RED.
Place the fingers and hand of the glove liners inside an outer winter test glove for 5 – 10 minutes.
- Check the controller light of both gloves after taking them out of the test outer glove.
- If the light is ON, then the gloves liners are in the heating mode and you should feel the warmth on the fingers and also the back of hand region.
Replacing a Used Battery Pack:
The rechargeable Battery Packs will eventually stop charging effectively. This is normal and is caused by several factors including the number of times charged, the length of time unused and uncharged, and the ambient temperature. They will usually require replacement after about 500 charges.
Note: Properly dispose of the used Battery Packs. Do not dispose by general household refuse. Consult your local municipality for correct disposal or recycling of lithium polymer rechargeable batteries. Six (6) month limited warranty on gloves charger and Y-cable adaptor, Ninety (90) day limited warranty on the rechargeable battery packs. Full warranty details on our website.
